Overview
One of the practical tasks, which should be implemented as a result of the project,
was the creation of the demonstration object for hot water supply with the help of the solar collectors system.
For definition of the optimal variant in conformity with the goals and tasks of the project,
it was carried out the search and analysis of such an object according to a number of selected criteria.
During the place determination for installation of equipment, it were surveyed several sanatoria,
holiday houses and boarding schools. The first choice was given to a boarding school for deaf children (see Appendix),
but due to a lack of the sufficient funds and impossibility of additional funds reception from the local budget,
the place selection was prolonged and, at the end, it was chosen a platform in the sanatorium "Russia", which appeared
to be optimal from the point of view of both technical and demonstration metrics. Sanatorium "Russia" welcomes annually
about 1000 people of a various social stratum that emphasize the social value of this object
As one of the key factors it was considered a fact that sanatorium has already had collectors made by
a handicraft way and supply one of the dwelling block with a hot water. Thus, our proposition evoked a
great interest showed by sanatorium administration to solar energy engineering. As an object, it was
decided to select the dwelling block under construction and use collectors for its supply with a hot
water. Next to the block there is a cinema (also under construction), on a roof of which the collectors
were installed. The roof of a cinema was constructing in accordance to the collector's installation requirements.
The administration of sanatorium took part in construction of the object within its powers, first of all
by means of allocation of workers, some building materials and particular system's clusters. It assisted
to a first step in arrangement of private public partnership.
The system construction was agreed with the German experts. The components were bought on the tender basis.
The mounting was carried out under control of the German corporation' consultant (technical features and
principle of operation see in Appendix).
In spite of the fact that the construction of an object was finished by the end of a resort season,
the interest to it still grows. For nowadays we have got an effect of solar collector's usage, positive
responses of sanatorium administration and number of propositions from various commercial and government
organizations (including recreational companies). The installation became a basic scientific platform for
practical students from Germany (TU-Berlin), Ukraine (OSAR, ONPU) and good experience for the Center's
professionals. Besides this, it would be desirable to mark, that the installation is most modern and
large in Odessa region.
The main difficulty was the irregularity of funds transfer and some friction concerning the organization
of the working process. From technical point of view, the complexities were called by difference between
Ukraine and German norms and standards. But, thanking to side-by-side work of European experts and the
Center's staff, all unessential disagreements were overcome.
Today, several negotiations take a place about the creation of the opened educational laboratory
on the basis of operating installation. It is also carried out a work on implantation of the
similar installations in other regions of Ukraine and Romania. On an elaboration stage there
is a project on creation of the interactive observation system for installation functioning,
and on its example, the number other projects, in particular, fulfilled in frontier districts of Romania.
