Overview
The purpose of training seminars was a distribution of the base technical knowledge among interested audiences. Each seminar was adapted for concrete target group. The target groups included local authorities' staff, energy engineers in suitable for installation of solar energy objects, hotels administrators and managers, sanatoria and other types of recreational and tourist establishments workers, entrepreneurs and engineers of companies, that could
be manufacturers or service companies in the area of SR units, representatives of academics institutions, NGOs, mass-media.
While preparation for seminars it was conducted the letters send out (direct mailing) to the addresses of potentially
interested institutions and persons, included in the Center's database; mass-media presentations (press, radio) were
carried out and also the information about seminars was presented in Internet.
During seminars, the leading experts were welcomed to participation both as speakers of the extensive theoretical reports
and the trainings facilitators. Being grounded on the basis of the information gained in a result of the project, - it was
possible to prepare the material for educational modules, which cover the essentials of solar power engineering. In particular,
major attention was given to basic components of systems, estimated calculations methods, and applied aspects of solar water
supply and usage of photoelectric converters.
The interest to training seminars was displayed rather noticeably. It is suffice to say, that among participants there
were representatives of other parts of Ukraine (Zaporozhye, Donetsk etc).
The special interest evoked on a third day of a seminar, when the practical aspects were put into a discussion and the
polemic became heated during a closing debate, simulated by the luminaries of solar power engineering in Ukraine. In that
moments the number of the participants exceeded the number of officially registered -30 persons.
Seminars rouse the greatest interest in young civil servants environment, businessmen, students and teachers of Universities
and Colleges that has ensured a potent multiplicity effect to seminars.
On the closing ceremonies, each participant received a CD with educational modules.
As the concrete results of training seminars it is possible to consider the started collaboration with various
scientific-research institutes, designer's bureaus, private and government bodies of the region. The second seminar
served as a beginning of contacts with administration of sanatorium "Russia", on which base the demonstration object
was constructed. Cooperation of the Center with the Odessa State Academy of Refrigeration allowed starting a work on
preparation of solar energy engineering manuals on a basis of educational module.
Being interested in prolongation of seminars activities, and also in improvement and adaptation of modules for the larger
number of target groups and organizations of South-Ukrainian solar power engineering forum, it was prepared a project and
presented to European Commission for review.
